Milestone formal recognition for Scaffolding

Scaffolding is now officially classified as a Level 3 trade under New Zealand’s new Occupational Codes.

As of 20th November, Scaffolding is officially classified as a Level 3 trade under New Zealand’s new Occupational Codes! This milestone marks the formal recognition of scaffolding as a Skilled Trade, something our industry has deserved for years and is finally being acknowledged as such.

This achievement has been a long time coming and is a testament to the hard work, persistence, and passion of everyone involved. A heartfelt thank you to all our members who supported this journey by engaging in consultations, sharing your stories, and making your voices heard. Your dedication has been key to driving this significant change.

With this recognition, we’re not just validating the skills and expertise of our workforce but also opening doors for better career pathways, opportunities for local workers, and stronger residency pathways for migrant workers. This is a win for scaffolding and a win for New Zealand’s construction and infrastructure sectors.

Thank you all for being part of this journey. Together, we’re building a stronger, safer, and more respected industry.
