This form will take approximately 15 minutes to complete. This form is for each individual requiring this assessment. E.g.if you have 4 staff you need to complete 4 forms.
This assessment requires the person to have a relatively good understanding of how to scaffold in NZ regardless of their overseas work experience. This assessment does not just assess them at the advanced level but also the elementary level, often the elementary work is something some overseas workers are not as familiar with. We therefore recommend you get this assessment completed once the person has spent 3-6 months working in the NZ team and getting a good understanding of how to apply the Good Practice Guidelines and work in NZ teams. Call the office if you have any questions about this.
The company requesting the assessments must provide the gear. If multiple companies are completing the assessment then the provider of the gear will be discussed with all parties by SARNZ with the expectation being that the gear is provided by the Company providing the yard for the assessment. Please check this gear list to ensure you have the required gear.
A suitable yard for this two day assessment needs to be available. For the assessment SARNZ uses the yard of the Company the Assessments are taking place for however if this is not suitable and SARNZ needs to source an assessment location then any costs incurred by SARNZ in doing this will be charged and split across each applicant. SARNZ will be in contact regrading establishing the assessment site when organising the assessment date.
Once we've reviewed your application, we'll be in contact to schedule the assessment.
If you have problems with this form, please contact SARNZ.
Fees
Upon successful completion of the assessment, SARNZ will send an invoice for $112 (including GST) for the Certificate of Competence to be issued. This is $92 for the Certificate of Competence and a $20 administration fee.
Terms & Information
Assessments are carried out by an approved assessor on behalf of SARNZ. Assessments take two days. The assessor of their associated training provider will contact you directly regarding a time and location for your assessment.
You will need to bring to the course a full toolbelt/kit and full PPE (harness lanyard etc). Please note that candidates must be ready to be assessed as it is a closed book assessment and not a training course.
When SARNZ has received confirmation from the assessor or their associated training provider that you have met the requirements, we will invoice you for the Certificate of Competence as per above.
